Herbal Medicine for Your Health & Well-Being
Can you benefit from herbal medicine?
Anyone can use herbal medicine- adults, children, the elderly, pregnant and breastfeeding women, the chronically ill, those on medications. With appropriate precautions in place, herbs can be used safely as a complement to conventional medical care or as an alternative. I work with people experiencing a range of health problems, including, but not limited to:
✤Women’s Health—menopausal concerns, pregnancy and postpartum concerns, infertility, PMS , cramps etc.
✤Headaches and migraines
✤Eczema, psoriasis, acne, hives, boils and other skin conditions
✤Digestive disorders like irritable bowel disorder, acid reflux, chronic constipation
✤Depression, anxiety, insomnia
✤ and just about anything you can think of
✤Acute care for children and adults: ear infections, urinary tract infections, vaginal infections, fevers, colds, sinus and other respiratory ailments
Herbs can also be used to enhance your overall wellness, helping with stress, tension, fatigue, poor sleep, low libido, poor concentration and more.
What to expect from your consultation?
Initial consultations last 1 1/2 to 2 hours and includes an extensive conversation about your history and present concerns. There will be plenty of time to answer any questions you might have. You will tell me what brings your story or what brings you in for a consultation with an herbalist. I will ask you some questions to flesh out all the details. By the time we finish talking we will have talked about you from head to toe. I utilize traditional techniques like tongue, facial and hand assessment and pulse testing to understand your health issues and create your herbal formula and treatment plan. Your treatment plan is uniquely tailed to your needs and is built around your customized herbal formula. I occasionally make dietary suggestions or supplement recommendations tailored to your issues and constitution and provide guidance and resources like book or website recommendations or referrals to other practitioners.
Follow up consultations are approximately 1/2 to 1 hour in length and are scheduled approximately one month after the initial consultation. A typical course of treatment is three visits. one-month rounds of herbal remedies. Treatment then continues on an as-needed basis as determined by you.
Location: I see clients in my home which is located in St. Paul’s Cathedral Hill area, easy to find, with ample parking.
Remedies: You will leave each appointment with handmade, ethically wildcrafted or organically grown herbal remedies formulated for your unique needs. I value simplicity in my protocols. You will leave with exactly what you need to get started, no giant list of expensive supplements to purchase from an outside source. Your remedies will likely be tinctures, but may also include syrups, tea blends or topical preparations like salves if indicated.
